Be sure to cite your sources properly! Here are some very basic APA source citation rules for help with the Works Cited portion of your outline. Also list the source along with the information you use from it INSIDE of your outline to give proper credit to the source. Good luck and do your best!
APA Help
In writing a research paper, you must document the source of the information you use, to give credit to the authors and to direct your readers to your sources. You can use Chicago or MLA method but if you are not familiar with either of those then I suggest learning the APA method for citing your sources. Many college classes will require you to use one of the style methods but they are all designed to help you organize the source data information effectively. The bibliographic citation gives credit to the author and directs your reader to your sources. APA (American Psychological Association) style describes the order of the elements (such as author, publisher, title, date & page) of the bibliographic citation. This guide gives sample citations in APA format for some common types of resources. It does not cover all the standards but gives you a basic idea of how to use the APA format in your speech outlines. For more information consult the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association or the APA website http://www.apastyle.org
